Santander Bank accelerates in blockchain and AI
The Spain’s Bank Santander has entered into a five-year partnership with IBM to accelerate its digital transformation through implementing technologies in artificial intelligence, blockchain and big data. The amount of this contract is approximately $ 700 million.
Less than one year after BNP Paribas, it’s the turn of another banking giant to get in the direction of ibm. Bank Santander has entered into a five-year partnership with big blue for nearly $ 700 million. The latter should allow the Spanish banking group “to accelerate and deepen its transformation” as stated in a press communicated.
Inside the containers, it is not the projects which can be missing with a goal of modernization of IS that will pass in particular by the implementation of programs and services in the fields of artificial intelligence, blockchain and big data.
Bank Santander knows the technologies of IBM already since last year to use a conversation bot based on Watson for its banking customer relationship, which is already the case in France at Orange Bank or elsewhere inside the world as in Australia at UBank. In parallel, the bank will also spend the second one inside the hybrid cloud by collaborating with IBM and its Cloud Competence Center on “methodologies and processes to accelerate its transformation” and by implementing the IBM DevOps and API Connect solutions to launch faster offers. In terms of security, Bank Santander will also use big blue’s expertise in incident response.
