Artificial intelligence in business
The adoption of artificial intelligence in business has increased by 270% between 2015 and 2019. This is revealed by a study published by analysts Gartner.
Artificial intelligence is more and more widely used in business. According to a study published by Gartner following a survey of 3,000 executives in 89 countries, the adoption of AI has increased by 270% in the last four years.
In 2018 alone, it grew by 37%. According to the CIOs surveyed by Gartner, the deployment of AI has tripled in the past year. According to analysts, this staggering rise is directly related to the fact that the AI has reached a certain maturity. In addition, nowadays, artificial intelligence is an integral part of digital strategies.
As Chris Howard, vice president at Gartner, says, if a company does not use AI nowadays, it is likely that its competitors will do so and earn an undeniable advantage. Even though the AI is not yet advanced enough to handle complex tasks, it is now able to assist humans. This is what Gartner calls “augmented intelligence”.
However, despite this rapid rise, it remains a major obstacle to the adoption of AI in business. This is the lack of qualified professionals in the field of artificial intelligence. Thus, nearly 54% of the CIOs interviewed by Gartner believe that the “skill gap” is the biggest challenge their company faces. To address this problem, Gartner suggests investing in AI training programs for employees with experience in statistics or data management.
